Alongside the Farm

Since 1972, our founder, Raúl Simondi, began pursuing his passion for metalworking. Since then, he has studied the needs of farmers, which has allowed him to adapt the company’s objectives to the development of its activities over the years.

In 2000, with the addition of Gustavo and Claudio Simondi to the company, SYRA SA, as it is known today, was born. It is the result of the efforts of a team of people who, over time, have developed positive experiences alongside agricultural producers in the field of fertilization of field crops, among other agricultural product developments.

Caring for the earth is caring for everyone’s future.

The ever-increasing rate of global population growth demands two basic objectives from food-producing countries:
1) To supply the growing population of their country (and that of other countries as well) with the increasing amounts of food and fiber they need.

2) To provide a satisfactory income for the farmer and his family.

It is difficult to accurately estimate the contribution of mineral fertilizers to increased agricultural production due to the interaction of many other important factors. However, fertilizers will continue to play a decisive role, regardless of what new technologies may yet emerge.

If the soil has an ample supply of nutrients, crops will likely grow better and produce higher yields. With fertilizers, crop yields can often double or even triple.

In addition to the improvement processes in modern agriculture, where organic fertilizer is provided by systems such as no-till, industrial fertilizers (solid and liquid) are added, as well as amendments that can be made by distributing organic materials generated in the field itself. For example, animal manure, among others.

At Syra, we are convinced that a large part of the sustainability of the agricultural and livestock business depends on caring for and improving land use. That’s why we design and manufacture implements with this goal in mind.
